Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, held a bilateral meeting during the G20 Summit in New Delhi
This marks Prime Minister Meloni's second visit to India, following her State visit in March 2023, which elevated bilateral relations to the status of a Strategic Partnership.
During their
meeting, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude for Italy's steadfast
support for India's G20 Presidency. He also commended Italy's recent inclusion
in the Global Biofuel Alliance and the India - Middle East - Europe Economic
Corridor, highlighting the strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
One aspect of
their discussion was the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic relations
between India and Italy. The leaders acknowledged the remarkable progress made
in various areas of their Strategic Partnership. They mutually agreed to deepen
collaboration in critical sectors such as defence and emerging technologies.
Moreover, both leaders stressed the importance of G7 and G20 cooperation for
the betterment of the global community.

successful execution of the G20 Summit, further underscoring the collaborative
spirit between the two nations.
